Your free guide for the 2013th edition of the Venice Biennale. This Ideological Guide contains an interactive offline map and provides visitors of the Biennale insight in the ideological infrastructure of the biennale and walking routes to the pavilions.

The Ideological Guide offers you critical reflections by prominent artists, curators, theoreticians, politicians, and scientists that will help you explore the ideological framework of each of the national pavilions present at the Venice Biennial: additional data provided by the guide will give further insight in the political background, selection procedure and financing of each of the exhibitions on display.

The Ideological Guide offers you the possibility to visit the different national pavilions based on the countries’ geopolitical alliances. Guide yourself through the routes offered by countries that are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), those which acknowledge the International Criminal Court (ICC), and member countries of the Group of Eight (G8) or the League of Arab States.

Updates containing new features are available in the App Store.

Since the Venice Biennale is continuously changing during the months the exhibitions are available, we have created an update feature to keep visitors of the Biennale updated in an unobtrusive manner.
Textual updates on background information of the pavilions and critical reflections are updated when launching the app while being connected to WiFi. If there is a more recent database available, it will automatically download it in the background to keep the user updated unobtrusively during the Venice Biennale.
This functionality only works when connected to WiFi; it will not download the database via the telephone network (for example 3G) to avoid expensive data roaming costs!
